We are excited to take the Gospel in music to the offenders @ the prison in Potosi. Please be praying for this ministry.
"Where can we hear the Walk play?"
One of the most frequently asked questions of the band. Although we stay pretty busy, most of our "gigs" are with the chapel at the Victory Mission or going into the prison at the Ozark Correctional Center where we host a Communion service for the offenders and this year playing for their two bike shows, organized by the Sons of Thunder, Christian Motorcycle group. It is with them that we look forward to playing the summer concert at the Correctional center in Potosi, Mo., which is 80% life incarceration or death row offenders.
"What kind of music do you play?"
Now that is a good question. My best answer is Jesus rock. Being a band of seasoned veterans each member brings his own influences to the music. Bert's originals combine elements of blues (Muddy Waters, B.B King, Glenn Kaiser) 70s rock, (ZZtop, Little Feet, Eric Clapton,) and Contemporary Christian,(Tomlin, Redman, Brewster). His original material is only strengthened by the players that surround him.
Who are the members of Bert Smith and the Walk?
Ron Woods on vocals and harmonica, John Payne on vocals and keyboards, B.J. DeClue on bass and vocals, Hunter Davis on percussion, Bob Allen on drums, and when Mickey Gilley Band isn't on the road Kevin Breshears on acoustic guitar and vocals.'
Red hot grooves, harmonies reminiscent of Southern Gospel, instrumentalists extrordinare, never overshadow what they have come together to do. Share the Good News of Jesus Christ to a lost and fallen world.
"Where can we buy your music?"
Are you in the right place! Although this version of the Walk is yet to record, all of my Cds are available for you to listen to, on the music page of this site. If you want to support our ministry by purchasing a song or cd you can link up to the music store from here as well.
"How can I help the Walk in their ministries?"
We rarely play a paying gig. That said, feel free to contact us to play at your church for an evening of worship, or at your event, if you are trying to help so will we. What we do make helps us continue in our ministries. Contact us .
We give away many of my cds and Brother Ron always has a box of large print Bibles on hand to give to those who need one. if you would like to help financially with this part of our ministry. Contact us.
eventually we will have it set up to give directly online, but be patient with me this is my first web site endevour.
Check out the new devotion from Brother Leon, in LEON'S CORNER!!!
